  • About Frijoleros:
The Frijoleros started out as a dream of a young Mexican boy. "Poppa, Poppa," he would cry "Quiero frijoles." This boy's loving father would feed him a can of beans everyday. Black beans one day, refried the next. Aside from a serious gastro-intestinal problem, the Mexican boy was happy and loving life. One day while eating a can of El Paso refried beans on his front porch, some neighborhood kids were playing American Football. "Vaya hondo!" one boy yelled to the other, as he threw a deep pass. The quarterback, who was much more used to kicking futbols than throwing footballs, overthrew the receiver. The young boy, watching the kids play, was feeding some of his beans to a stray burro. The errant pass hit the wild burro in the ass, startling the poor donkey and causing him to run in horror. The burro went stampeding in fear just as his the young boy's father was coming outside. Not aware of the situation, he strolled into the donkey's path. The burro collided with the boy's father killing him instantly, only leaving a skidmark of beans... The young boy, paralyzed, couldn't do anything but stare at his poor father. A spoon hanging from his mouth, a half empty bean can on the ground, and a spicy tear running down his cheek. To this day, the young boy has vowed to play American Football and protect innocent spectators from the perils of overthrown passes and wild donkeys.
